Meet our Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Christopher Chung is our Chief Medical Officer and has been integral in developing the Fellowship as an opportunity for surgeons from other disciplines to master a suite of procedures, begin their journey to a rewarding career and an improved work-life balance.
Dr. Chung joined Aesthetic Physicians in 2009 and has remained committed to his number one professional priority: providing the best medical care to his patients. He is a skilled surgeon for his patients and inspiring mentor to his peers.
Dr. Chung is fully trained in General Surgery with a Fellowship training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the University of California, San Diego. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis with the highest honors, Dr. Chung began his medical education at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. While at both UC Davis and UC San Francisco, he was recognized with the most prestigious distinction, UC Regents Scholar, earning him a full academic scholarship for all eight years of his schooling.
Dr. Chung is a recipient of many awards for his community service, including County of Los Angeles Commendation, United States Special Congressional Recognition, the Character and Ethics Award, State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition, and California Legislature Assembly Certificate of Recognition. He has also presented at multiple national and international scientific meetings and is well published with numerous scientific articles and textbook contributions.
While Dr. Chung is an experienced surgeon with over 20,000 procedures completed, the mentorship and guidance he provides his peers is what he is known for. He works diligently to ensure that surgeons who join this practice have the most advanced education, access to the latest technology and the guidance they need to make a positive impact on their patients’ lives.
When he is not training the next generation of cosmetic surgeons he enjoys the outdoors, tennis and fictional writing. Dr. Chung is married to an emergency medicine physician and has three children.
