Physician Spotlight – Dr. Mala Thenappan

Born in India and moved to the United States when she was two. Her family settled in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and she grew up on apple pie and Chevrolet. As the eldest daughter, she stayed close to home to attend school.

When Dr. Thenappan was younger, she was torn between her love of math and becoming an engineer and her love of surgical shows. She knew the first time she held a needle driver that it was love at first sight.

In her free time, she loves to entertain and socialize within her community and loves to dance. Anything from Indian Classical dance to Ballroom dancing.

What she loves about SonoBello- She loves surgery and loves that it is a Happy Field.

he finds it fun and gratifying. She adores that her patients are grateful and loves when her patients bring in candy and flowers to the staff, across the country.
