Chukwuemeka A. Onyewu, MD
Dr. Onyewu obtained his medical doctorate from Boston University School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, he attended Boston University College of Liberal Arts and completed his Bachelor’s in Biology with Cum Laude honors at the age of 19.
Dr. Onyewu completed his medical residency in General Surgery at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and was Chief Resident of General Surgery from 1994-1995. He later completed a Plastic Surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
When asked about his medical philosophy, he replied “you must be a person first and a doctor second”.
Dr. Onyewu was born in Washington, D.C. and is married with three children. He enjoys golfing, art work and writing both humor and fiction stories.
He is very passionate about helping those less fortunate and has been on over 27 medical missions worldwide.
His favorite charity is Susan G. Komen Foundation.
