Timothy King, MD

Dr. King’s is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with an MD/PhD from The University of Texas-Houston Medical School and MD Anderson Cancer Center. His doctoral research focused on developing biodegradable microspheres for tissue engineering, culminating in two US patents.  He furthered his expertise with an MBA from Boston University. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

He completed his residency training at the Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at NYU Medical enter in New York City and a fellowship in Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Dr. King’s contributions to the field extend beyond clinical practice. He is a recipient of multiple awards, including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons Academic Scholar Award, the American College of Surgeons Louis C. Argenta Faculty Research Fellowship, the Plastic Surgery Foundation Visiting Professorship, and the NYU Blair O. Rogers Clinical Research Award. He has held national leadership roles in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Plastic Surgery Foundation, the Plastic Surgery Research Council, the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, and the Wound Healing Society.  He has also served as an Examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. King’s commitment to advancing knowledge is reflected in his editorial roles with leading journals such as Journal of Surgical Research, FACE, and Craniomaxillofacial Trauma and Reconstruction. He is also a member of distinguished societies including Alpha Omega Alpha and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.

A fun fact about Dr. King is he worked as a NASA engineer before going to medical school.

He is married with two children and a dog. When not operating, Dr. King enjoys spending time with his family, reading, traveling, learning about technology, and nature/landscape photography.  His favorite charities are Smile Train and Heifer International.
